"A few years ago I enrolled in a 9 month program aimed at empowering my spiritual life and faith in Christ. During that program we were assigned a small group. We met and vulnerably shared about our lives and prayed for each other. While praying over me, one woman shared that she envisioned me jumping out of a burning house, representative of me leaving the old, dysfunction behind and embracing the newness to come. This is characteristic of a life pursuant of Jesus. It's not a perfect life but it's always looking more like a glimpse of Heaven. Renewal, repentance (acknowledging my sin and wrongdoing and turning away from it), and joy because the new has come! It's never too late to leave the old behind."
